3D printing simulation robot is about to come out

A Massachusetts-based company called Neuron Robotics has been working to make the design and production of precision robots more accessible through 3D printing. Recently, they introduced a new software tool called BowlerStudio, which streamlines the entire robot development process by combining script control with device management and powerful processing capabilities. According to Neuron Robotics, BowlerStudio allows users to quickly create mobile robots using an intuitive interface. The software integrates OpenCV for image processing, a DH parameter-based kinematics engine, and a JCSG-based CAD and 3D modeling system. With the Creature Creator tool, users can easily adjust DH parameters using sliders during the design phase, ultimately generating STL files ready for 3D printing. These files can then be assembled into physical robots that mirror the design and functionality seen in the software, including movement patterns. The platform offers a range of features to enhance the user experience: - Design custom GUIs to control your robot - Create and manage animations - Enable vision capabilities using cameras or Kinect data - Easily manage motors, sensors, and other hardware - Control 3D printers and other tools directly from the software - Generate 3D models and simulate their motion based on part layouts and servos From concept to assembly, the entire process is designed to be user-friendly. Users can arrange parts and components within a simple software interface, then use a video game joystick to test and simulate the robot’s movement on screen. If everything looks good, they can generate an STL file, print it with any desktop 3D printer, and assemble the electronic components to complete the robot. Additionally, the game controller can be used to operate the real robot via Cartesian commands. Users can also train their robots by assigning tasks, interact with them through the remote, and even record their movements using BowlerStudio. Although the platform is still in development, Neuron Robotics reports significant progress in key areas and expects the software to meet user needs soon. This innovative approach is making robotics more approachable and customizable than ever before.
