In order to quickly realize the transmission of newspaper layout information, a set of transmitted data information is generally compressed by the compression tool and then sent out from the main station. After the satellite receiving station receives the newspaper layout information sent from the satellite, it runs the file. Unzip, you can get directly on the image machine output file.

At present, most typesettings of newspapers are using the Founder Feiteng typesetting software. In the use of Founder's prepress publishing system, the PS files generated by the Feiteng publishing software are used for output. In the local area network, usually the PS file is stored in a certain fixed directory, and the word file and the image file called by the PS file are generally stored in a plurality of different directories. When outputting from a local area network, multiple image file save paths and fill word file save paths can be set in the output software parameter settings, and all relevant files required by the PS file can be called up when output. The remote printing through satellite transcript is required to transmit both the PS file and PS file that need to be called at the same time. If there are not enough files, missing words and missing pictures will appear during the output. As a result, there are serious errors. When satellites are printed, it is necessary to use automated means to package and transfer the PS files together with the images and the supplemental files. In addition, if the layout file is compressed reasonably and effectively, the amount of data to be transmitted can be greatly reduced, and the PS file can be quickly transmitted to each satellite receiving station, thereby improving the publishing efficiency of the newspaper.

In order to solve the problem of packetization of transmission data, the satellite coding system developed and developed a PS file packaging tool for the Founder Feiteng typesetting software.

1. Package tool software features.

The packaging tool software has the following functions: automatically search for image files according to PS files; automatically search for patch files according to PS files; compress and package PS files and called image files and make-up files; package compression can be split into multiple packages Transfer; Unzip and unpack files; Package can include Feiteng typesetting files (ie, files with the extension FIT) and Websetter typesetting files (ie, files with the extension PUB); TIF format images for Gray, CMYK color modes The file can be compressed by the JPEG algorithm. The bitmap format (that is, the black and white binary image format) file can be compressed by using the JBIG algorithm; the EPS image file format generated by a variety of layout software can be supported, and the EPS format file can be valid. Compression; check the format of the wrong image that appears in the publishing process; process the image file with the same name to avoid misidentification; and compress the PS file with embedded image files.

2. PS file packaging process

PS file packaging operation process is divided into the following four steps: 1 set parameters, enter the path of the word file, image file path, in the packaging process will automatically call the PS file together with the image file and make-up file. 2 Select the "New File" option and give the file path and file name after the package. 3 Click on the "Add" button to select the PS file to be packaged. 4 Make sure that the image file and the make-up file checked by the program are all ready. After selecting the “Package” button, you can create a file with the extension PSF in the corresponding directory. At this point, the packaging process has been completed.

When the PS file is packaged, its main operation is to set the compression parameters. The settings of the compression parameters include the following items:

"Temporary file storage directory" option settings, this setting is used to store and unpack the directory where the temporary files are stored, the default setting is C: \ Temp, the temporary directory of the disk space is greater than 200MB, or even larger.

The setting of the “supplement path” option. This setting is used for the directory where the make-up file to be called when the package is installed. The default setting is C:\BZ.

"Image Path" option settings, this setting is used to package the directory where the image file to call, you can click Browse to select the directory you want to add, you can manually enter the directory path.



"Ignore the path of the picture in the PS" option. When this option is selected, the program will not find the picture according to the path indicated by the PS file. Instead, the picture will be saved according to the path of the image saved in the program parameters and the path where the PS file is located. When this option is not selected, the program will first find the map according to the path indicated by the PS file, and then look for the map according to the image save path and PS file path set by the program parameters.

“Compress TIF file” option setting, when this option is selected, the TIF format image of Gray, CMYK color mode will be compressed by JPEG, the restored image will be different from the original, but it will not greatly affect the quality of the image. When this option is not checked, the image will not be JPEG compressed and the restored image will be the same as the original. In practical applications, it is best not to select this option to ensure the remote transmission quality of the image.

The setting for the "Compressed EPS file" option. When this option is selected, EPS image files and bitmaps are compressed.

"Compressed PS file" option setting, when this option is selected, the image contained in the PS file will be compressed; when this option is not selected, the PS file is only compressed, but the image is not compressed; if the PS file Embedded in a very large image file, resulting in very slow compression and decompression, and even decompression is not normal, for this situation you can choose not to compress the PS file.

"Split file (MB)" option setting, this setting is used to set the size of each package when the package file is split. For some files with a large amount of file information, use this function to add a PS file. Packages generate a set of package files. The size of each package is determined by this option. If a packet has an error, you only need to retransmit the packet.

When the option “Pack FIT and PUB group files” is selected, when this option is selected, Feiteng typesetting files or Vesicon typesetting files can be packaged together for transmission. After receiving these typesetting files, the receiving party can also use corresponding settings. The typesetting software opens these files for layout and text modification.

The setting of “Using LZMA data compression” option, when this option is selected, LZMA data compression algorithm is used to compress data; when this option is not selected, ZIP data compression algorithm is used to compress data.

3. Unpacking PS file

The unpacking operation of the PS file is mainly used for the satellite receiving station to decompress the received file and output it.

The process of unpacking a PS file is divided into the following two steps: 1Select the "Open file" option, select the package file (file with extension PSF) that needs to be unpacked, and select the extension if it is a multiple-package file. P01 to PXX files. 2 Select the "Unpack" option and give the directory where the unpacked file was saved. Click the "Save" button to start unpacking.

There are only two setting parameter options for the parameter setting when unpacking the PS file: 1 “Uncompress and complement the word path” option setting. This setting is used to store the path of the supplemental word file after unpacking. 2 "Unzip the file when prompted" option is set. When this option is selected, when the file is decompressed to the same directory, a dialog window will appear prompting whether to overwrite the file if a duplicate file name occurs.
