Evaluation of Product Design Quality of Printing Manufacturers (I)

After China's accession to the WTO, the market outside the corporate threshold will gradually become part of the international market, and the market competition facing it will become increasingly fierce. The more intense the competition, the faster the business differentiation, and the faster printing companies. Therefore, enhancing the company's core competitiveness is the most pressing choice for printing companies. As far as printing companies are concerned, product quality, service quality, delivery time, and cost are the determinants of a company's market competitiveness. The quality of design largely determines product quality and manufacturing costs. Research shows that although actual investment in the conceptual design phase only accounts for 5% of the total cost of product development, it determines 70% of the total cost of the product, and it is difficult or even impossible to correct the defects and errors of the conceptual design in the subsequent stages. From the incidents of many "recalls" of Japanese products reported in recent years, many are caused by design flaws. China has already implemented a product recall system. Therefore, it is necessary for a printing manufacturing enterprise to build a product design quality evaluation model and to improve and ensure product quality through the effective implementation of this model.

I. Status Quo of Product Design Quality Evaluation in Printing Enterprises

Printing and manufacturing companies generally have their own product design review system, but most of them are formed on the basis of traditional concepts, methods and production methods. The control of design quality cannot meet the requirements of the market for product quality after joining the WTO. In the existing system, design quality evaluation often focuses on the mid-term part of the product life cycle (eg, functional design, process structure), neglecting product incubation period and late stage (eg, product planning, concept design, environmental harmony, product maintainability, etc.) ); Design quality evaluation: focus on compliance function evaluation, cost ignorance, product culture; innovation evaluation: qualitative evaluation, quantitative evaluation less. Easily ambiguous evaluation conclusions make it difficult for decision-making. Many companies have not yet formed a closed-loop structure of “design-evaluation-redesign-reassessment”, and re-evaluation light improvement will make design defects still possible.

The structure and level of technical talents in some printing manufacturing enterprises cannot meet the requirements for constructing multi-functional evaluation teams. The evaluation team with imperfect functions can hardly adapt to the parallel design quality defect recognition. In particular, electromechanical electro-optical integrated electromechanical equipment, design imperfections are less intuitive, and the points that may hide defects are more relevant and stronger. Evaluation requires the mutual penetration of multiple professional knowledge.

Design quality evaluation requires a lot of effective information support. Such information includes domestic and foreign markets and related information directly or indirectly related to the product's entire life cycle. The existing information collection, processing, and utilization capabilities of printing and manufacturing enterprises are often insufficient to support design quality evaluation. The knowledge base and current status of computer applications are difficult to achieve. High-quality resolution of conflicting evaluation results.

Printing and manufacturing companies pay more attention to the market demand in the near future. The market has limited forecast and lack of technical reserves. In the case of orders with tight delivery schedules, the time allocated to the design is compressed, and the evaluation time is less. The “battle-style” evaluation is often used. Production decisions are made on the condition that the evaluation object design defects are insufficiently exposed, and some are even When designing production, it is often necessary to correct the defects at a later stage, which is fast and slow, leading to increased costs and even development failures. The study believes that the cost ratio for rectifying the same defect in the design, manufacturing, and after-sales phases is 1:10:100.

Based on the above, the establishment of an effective and standardized design quality evaluation model is a necessary condition for a successful print product manufacturing company to strive for product design.

Second, print manufacturing product design quality evaluation model

The design quality assessment model is a system plan that considers the interaction and influence of various factors of the product throughout the life cycle, and carries out the quality evaluation of the product design results analysis segment. Its purpose is not only the review of product process in the traditional sense, but also the evaluation of design quality starting from the relevant factors of the whole product life cycle, and making the evaluation team use various information resources and advanced evaluation means in an orderly manner. Implement evaluations, obtain credible evaluation results and propose feasible improvement suggestions. This model is divided into four stages: building a multi-functional evaluation team, establishing an evaluation system, evaluating the task's analysis, solving and evaluating the results, and eliminating and resolving the decision.
