Analysis of the application and operation failure of printing thermosetting ink

Thermosetting ink is also called plastic ink, or self-adhesive ink. Its ingredients: mainly composed of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and phthalate esters, which are composed of polyvinyl chloride and phthalate, color fixing agent, stabilizer, thickener to form thermosetting Ink.

Thermosetting ink is a non-solvent ink. After heating, it dissolves and plasticizes between the powder and the auxiliary agent and penetrates into the fiber and the cloth to form a firm film. Due to the current ban on the use of polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl chloride can be replaced by a modified body to make thermosetting inks that meet environmental requirements. Because the temperature of PVC plasticization is different, thermosetting ink can be divided into high temperature and low temperature.

Thermosetting ink entered the market earlier, but due to the unfamiliar operation and the limitations of production equipment, its promotion speed is relatively slow. Now it is very mature from its marketing to production and operation.

Basic requirements of thermosetting ink

The rigid board of polyester type should be used for the other board, and the rigid board should also be used. Now the tempered glass is more common, and the use of the silk screen should be flexibly applied according to the printed pattern. For example, the fine mesh transition is recommended to be suitable for screens between 150 mesh and 250 mesh. Thermosetting ink itself does not require photoresist. It is recommended to use water and oil for general printing patterns. In this way, whether it is water or solvent can be used when wiping the board.

Three-dimensional thick film printing pattern

Want to use special thick film board and photosensitive glue to make thick film? The screen is coated once with normal thickness, and the outside is coated with a round knife according to the thickness of the pattern or coated with an ordinary sizing device for multiple times, and placed in a drying oven for 40, 50, 60 minutes to dry exposure. Due to the difference in photosensitive adhesive and the power of the exposure box, the exposure time must be tested. After development, it must be placed in a drying oven at low temperature to dry the moisture. Do not expose to sunlight when it is dry. Temperature is the key to the performance of thermosetting inks. Therefore, it is recommended to use tunnel drying and heating equipment with good thermal insulation and stable heating temperature.

Special additive for thermosetting ink

Thermosetting ink is a very independent printing material. She has her own special printing auxiliary. Such as: thinner, thickener, softener, fixing agent, etc. If you encounter many additives to be added during operation, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer first. Operate after listening to suggestions. Do not add or subtract additives without authorization based on experience, which will cause unnecessary waste and loss.

Process of thermosetting ink

According to different printing effects, thermosetting inks are divided into ordinary and special processes.

The ordinary printing process generally refers to simple, solid, line monochrome monochromatic printing. This type of process is the same as the ordinary printing process except for heating. The operation is simple, without the need to wipe the board and plasticize, which is several times higher than the performance of water-based printing materials.

The special printing process generally refers to three-dimensional printing, foam printing, suede printing, gravel printing, wire drawing, etc.

Grasp the curing temperature of curing ink

Most failure cases, the reason is that the temperature and time of curing are not grasped. For ordinary printing patterns, curing usually takes 170 to 180 shore minutes. For special printing patterns, curing generally requires pre-baking for 100 to 30 seconds. After the surface is dried, it enters the drying tunnel dryer for 170 to 180 to 2 minutes. (The white surface fabric is easy to change color at high temperature, the temperature is appropriately reduced, and the time is prolonged.) Another: thermosetting ink foaming is suitable for pressing with a foaming machine, and the surface is smoother.

Common problems in the operation of thermosetting ink

1. The ink drawing is not clean ... If the viscosity is not too large, add thinner, 1% can be

2. The edge of the pattern is uneven ... too many knife backs, or the ink is too thin

3. Bubbles in the thick film pattern or on the surface ... The curing temperature is not high enough or the time is not long enough

4. The surface of the pattern is matt, without tension, falling off in powder form, without curing

5. The ink will change color after overheating, and the fabric will be absorbed by the ink after sublimation. It is recommended to make a sample test before printing. If the fabric color is easily sublimated, anti-sublimation thermosetting ink should be used.

6. The water-based glue and thermosetting ink are superimposed on each other, but the water slurry can be overprinted with thermosetting ink

7. Water-based printing color, can not be mixed with thermosetting ink

8. Thermosetting ink is not a universal ink, the corresponding thermosetting ink should be selected for fabrics of different materials

9. Changes in climate and environment will affect the viscosity of thermosetting inks. Thinners or thickeners (not exceeding 2%) can be added as needed.
