Beer self-adhesive labels

Stora Enso Global Specialty Papers has recently developed a self-adhesive label sheet for the beer industry. This new product can be used for high-speed labeling and will be officially launched in the second quarter of 2006.

Stora Enso's move is mainly to meet the needs of beer producers to reduce the cost of packaging materials, improve production efficiency and use environmentally-friendly labels.

“The current trends in labeling are low-cost, wear-resistant labels. Plastic films are no longer the main material for labels, so paper self-adhesive labels are being used more and more.” Stora Enso Technology and Label Paper Eckhard Kallies, director of sales for the department, said. "Paper labels have a unique advantage for brewers. They cost less than plastic films. The latest pressure-sensitive labels are excellent and very strong."

In order to optimize the practical application of the label paper, the company has performed a number of tests on the entire use process of the label, including printing, compounding, and die cutting.

Stora Enso used the company's expertise in pressure-sensitive labels to complement the alcohol market and spent a lot of time developing the label. The company currently offers several new pressure-sensitive label types to help manufacturers improve product appearance, increase productivity, and expand the use of packaging materials.
