DEK Launches New Photon High Speed ​​Press

DEK announced the launch of a new high-speed, high-performance press called DEK Photon. Photon uses an optimized press frame that offers greater accuracy and repeatability, as well as a true 6-sigma process platform (@±25mm) containing all printing variables.

DEK Photon's core cycle is only 4 seconds, its production capacity is twice that of other machine platforms, but it occupies only the standard size of the fuselage area. The reason why Photon has such high productivity lies in having DEK's cutting-edge technologies and creative engineering concepts, including DEK's Rapid Transfer Technology (RTC); the easy-to-use Instinctiv user interface; optimized printer rack technology; and DEK's Intelligent scalable control area network (ISCAN) technology.

In addition, Photon also leverages other DEK proven technologies, such as the use of high-speed synchronous pattern recognition technology to shorten datum aiming and board alignment time; and use of high-quality absolute position encoders for accurate and repeatable printing, even if The wafer-level chip scale package (CSP) and 01005 component devices are also the same.

The RTC technology used by Photon can speed up the transfer rate of substrate in board and printed board outboard, shortening the core cycle of the machine to 4 seconds. RTC thus solved the key problem of limiting the core cycle, which minimizes the dead time—the printing press does not add any value to the board during dead time.

Other productivity-enhancing options include a two-way conveyor configuration that allows components to be fed directly into a dual-rail pick-and-place machine to run both products simultaneously. The large board configuration capability of 610mm x 508mm [X x Y] or the upcoming 508mm x 610mm [X x Y] is directly compatible with major manufacturers' large format board pick and place formats.

Photon also benefits from DEK's new and highly efficient bus-type control architecture, which offers higher reliability, process repeatability, functionality, and cost-effective assembly and maintenance services. DEK's Intelligent Scalable Control Area Network (ISCAN) technology uses the CAN protocol to link all machine subsystems. The traditional patch panel is replaced by an efficient bus structure and supports data collection and automatic calibration and extensive diagnostic functions from the main subsystems.
