In the past few years, 3D printing has attracted global attention because of its fascinating magic to create physical objects. It only requires air, or the computer can turn the design on the drawings into reality.

The 3D printing process is sometimes referred to as "added manufacturing" and is achieved using a layered material on an inkjet printer. It's like a sedimentary rock, but the structure inside is completely designed by you.

Although there is a lot of discussion about 3D printers making food, medicines, cars, etc., their potential in apparel manufacturing is rarely noticed. Part of the reason is that most of the clothes and accessories made by 3D printing have not yet entered the mainstream – they look too strange or impractical. In fact, when I started to explore this field, I planned to bring together different brands, but the final product was rarely satisfactory. In short, the level of taste and aesthetics are still not at the level of integration with the larger fashion industry.

This led me to focus on the Metalepsis project initiated by architects Victoria Cho and Astrid Chastka, which has successfully created the 3D printed jewelry we want to wear. Recently, in collaboration with the fashion brand Chromat, at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards Ceremony, we saw these women's 3D print collars, bracelets and rings, which are different from the common styles on the market and have different charms.
