K-resin ideal food packaging material

K-Resin (K-resin) is a styrene-butadiene copolymer (SBC). It is a transparent resin with unique gloss, transparency, and impact strength. It can be developed and applied by a series of traditional processing technologies. .

According to experts, compared with other transparent polymers, K-resin copolymers are characterized by low density, more attractive from an economic point of view, and more consistent with the US Food and Drug Administration FDA21CFR177, 1640 and European EEC guidelines90 All amendments to /128/EEC stipulate that they can be used as food packaging. The main materials are:

K—resin blown film

K-resin copolymer film has excellent transparency, both rigidity and excellent gloss. After biaxial orientation stretching, blown films can be used as shrink films and label packaging materials. K-resin film's low shrinkage force can reduce the deformation of the packaged product due to pressure, and has excellent crease-retaining performance. It is an ideal candy kink packaging material. K-resin copolymers exhibit excellent O2, CO2 and moisture permeability, are used as packaging materials for vegetables and fruits, can help keep fruits and vegetables fresh, and are easy to color, can be made into light color, high gloss, transparent or semi- Transparent packaging film. In addition, the impermeability of K-resin copolymer films is quite low, which is attractive for certain food packaging. Packaged fruits and vegetables need a balanced oxygen, carbon dioxide and water environment to maintain the ripening process and keep it fresh. K-resin film can change the intake and release of oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapor, which can effectively increase the shelf life of fruits and vegetables.

K-resin sheet extrusion and thermoforming

KR03 Polystyrene/GPPS blending is the most common and is especially suitable for the manufacture of disposable transparent containers. KR03/GPPS blending balances the toughness of the K-resin and the rigidity of the GPPS. The optimum blending ratio depends mainly on the product design. Biaxial stretching during the forming process increases the toughness of the product, so shallow stretched products (such as lids) require a higher proportion of K-resin than deep drawn products (such as cups). In most K-resins/GPPS articles, the KR03 content is in the range of 50% to 70%.
