As the level of people's consumption increases and the retail market further develops, it is expected that by 2005 China's annual consumption of paper and board will reach 50 million tons, of which consumption of corrugated board will be 15 million tons. According to expert calculations, there will be nearly 1 million tons of gaps by 2005, so the import volume of high-strength corrugated paper will continue to increase in the near future. According to market demand, domestic high-strength corrugated base papers are a major trend toward low-quantity, high-strength, full-size specifications. The demand for medium and high-strength corrugated base paper is relatively large, and the price of corrugated base paper will increase. Currently, reducing costs and reducing quantitative are two major themes for the development of corrugated base paper. In recent years, F, N, and G corrugations have appeared on the market, and the height is much lower than that of conventional corrugated medium. Such cardboard must use low-volume corrugated base paper. Now there are 90~15g/m corrugated paper, and it is estimated that 60~90g/m2 corrugated paper will be produced in the future. Therefore, the corrugated board's ration is reduced from the original 1000~1100g/m2 to the current 600g/m2. Some countries Corrugated cardboard only 500g/m2. At present, corrugated paperboards produced in China are generally high-quantitative and waste a lot of resources. Each year, they have to import a considerable amount of high-strength corrugated paper.

With the continuous development of the society and the improvement of the consumption level, the printing of corrugated boxes must gradually develop in the direction of high-end, high-quality, multi-color, and visual effects. 1. The traditional service objects of corrugated box packaging are outer packaging and transportation packaging. In the future, new products should be actively developed, such as miniature fine corrugated paper boxes, supermarkets, and honeycomb paperboards, etc., which are developed in both breadth and depth.

2. Corrugated carton packaging should also actively develop into sales packaging. With the development of the commodity market, corrugated carton boxes not only have packaging functions, but also have advertising functions. The carton industry must constantly develop its potential functions.

3. The kraft linerboard transport packaging will be gradually replaced by the whiteboard kraft card color-printed cartons, and the integration of internal and external packaging products will be realized. The cartons industry should determine the coping strategies as soon as possible.
