The application of polyurethane ink

In plastic composite flexible packaging, the most commonly used outer materials are BOPP, PET, NY and other three kinds of films, and the corresponding gravure printing inks include chlorinated olefin printing ink and polyurethane composite high temperature resistant ink. The competition for inks on the market today is very intense, especially on the chlorinated olefin type inks. The main reason is that since the introduction of this type of ink from Japan in the 1980s, the development of the ink in 20 has been quite rapid, and the main resin and pigment have been supplied locally, and the ink production process is very mature, and the stereotypes and technical difficulty are continuously declining. The use of polyurethane as the main link material ink, due to its high technical content, the product's raw materials need to be purchased from abroad, therefore, this type of product competition is relatively small. Although there are many ink manufacturers claiming that they can produce this type of ink, they can really achieve product quality and can meet the PET, NY film post-processing requirements of polyurethane ink products are not many, especially high-temperature cooking ink products It is very few.

The 300LM cooking resistant ink produced by Zhejiang New Oriental Ink Group Co., Ltd. won the national new product title in 1995. After years of efforts, it became the first choice for domestic cooking ink. In recent years, the sales volume of the company's polyurethane ink has been maintained at more than 1000T, becoming the leading product of New Oriental Ink Group. It also provides domestic color printing companies with the most cost-effective cooking ink, thus reducing the production cost.

From the analysis of the development trend of composite inks, due to the chlorinated polyolefin inks printed on, the main solvents of benzene as the main solvent are poor in thermal stability, and the application area is narrow. These structural defects deviate from the expectations of the printing flexible packaging companies, so their prospects are bleak. Inevitably, it will be replaced by other types of ink products; benzene-free inks based on polyurethane resins will be further recognized by users for their high performance and wide applicability, and the market demand will increase significantly.

New Oriental Ink Group's existing polyurethane inks for PET, NY film are 300LM, 321F, and 322 three. Among them, 300LM is resistant to steaming ink and can be used for high-temperature sterilization of 40 miN in the range of 121-135°C; 321F is a multi-purpose compound ink that meets the boiling requirements within 100°C; 322 is a PET composite high-grade ink with high color density , Low viscosity, excellent transferability, very suitable for high-speed gravure. These three kinds of inks can fully satisfy different levels of customers and different types of packaging requirements, and therefore have been widely recognized by users.

Polyurethane inks are slightly different from chlorinated inks in their use, and their performance is different. First, the dilution solvent composition is different. Chlorine-based inks are benzene-based solvents, supplemented with esters and ketones to adjust the volatilization rate. Since the commonly used butanone volatilization rate is faster than that of toluene, when using a polyurethane ink, in order to prevent the excessive volatilization of the true solvent from causing poor solubility, or the deterioration of the ink transferability, it is recommended that when the diluent solvent is added, Addition of less, control the viscosity of the ink on the machine to ensure that the amount of solvent in the composition of butanone in a certain proportion, such as New Oriental Ink Company's 300LM ink, butanone solvent requirements of not less than 30%. Second, polyurethane inks have a two-liquid reaction type. When producing retort pouches that require high-temperature sterilization above 121, you must use polyurethane ink and add the appropriate amount of hardener. Taking 300 LM ink as dried bean curd packaging as an example, the structure is NY/INK/CPP. In the white ink, 4% of the original ink is added into the hardener, and after stirring, it can be printed. When there is white ink, other color inks can no longer be added with hardener. When there is no white ink, it needs to be in each color ink. The 4% hardener was added because the white ink has a good shielding effect and can prevent the penetration and discoloration of the pigment in the color ink. Of course, there are customers that rely on the high performance of 300.709 white, and no hardeners are added. Two-fluid reaction type It is best to use the remaining ink first filtered, and then part of the new ink added, or as a diluent solvent, but when the ink has white turbidity, can not continue to use. Third, the polyurethane ink has good composite properties and has a fairly high peel strength. The typical chlorinated polypropylene ink has a composite strength of 1.5-2.5N/15Cm, while the polyurethane ink peel strength can reach 3-6N/15Cm, and the cooking ink after high-temperature sterilization at 121°C, the peel strength does not decrease but rises. The following is the composite strength data of 322 inks measured by our company.

Fourth, polyurethane inks have a wide range of applicability, while chlorine-based inks have a narrow application area. Polyurethane inks can be used to print films such as PET, NY, and K coatings. Different performance polyurethane inks are selected for the post-processing process. For example, 300LM is used for cooking packaging, and 322 is a PET composite ink. It is not suitable for high-temperature cooking. Claim. Chlorine-based inks cannot be used for boiled and steamed packaging because of the instability of the chlorine atoms in the resin. They are only suitable for the printing of BOPP film, and are not ideal for the printing of PET films.

The performance of polyurethane ink is very good. In foreign countries, especially in the gravure ink market such as the European Community, chlorinated and cyanide inks are in the rank of elimination. Polyurethane inks are very popular. At present, the price of polyurethane ink in the domestic market is more than 1/3 higher than that of chlorinated and c-based inks, and the total amount of gravure ink used accounts for less than 10%, while the chlorine-based and cyan-based inks account for about 50%. Therefore, China's polyurethane ink has great room for development, especially China has joined the WTO, the supply of raw materials is more convenient, more extensive technical exchanges, will also be a domestic ink manufacturer will be a great challenge and opportunity. New Oriental ink has always been dominated by polyurethane ink. Whether in terms of technology or market share, it has the right time and place. We hope to take advantage of technology and raw material supply to become a domestic manufacturer of polyurethane ink. The leader.
