In 2002, the company developed the second-generation FN1-150-5 semi-automatic new steel barrel seam welding machine, which was highly praised by users because it produced two steel drums per minute in the original Shanghai Electric Welder Factory. Through the secondary bridge rectification of the welding power source, the precise control of the welding current can be further realized, the welding quality and the welding speed can be greatly improved, and the semi-automatic to fully automatic transformation can be completed at the lowest cost. The application of DC welding, although increasing the cost of automation, greatly reduces the power consumption of the equipment, is one of the most practical development direction.

The increase of the automatic feeding mechanism can also effectively reduce the consumption of the welding auxiliary time, enhance the accuracy of the welding positioning, and reduce the working intensity of the operator.

Since there is no breakthrough improvement in current control, there has never been a leap in quality and speed, so there is no large-scale application. But these efforts have provided useful experience for seam welder retrofitting a few years later.

Two years ago, when a company made a steel barrel automatic seam welding machine, China's barrel industry saw hope.
